Doctor Who fans will get their chance to see the Doctor back for the first time in 2019 when the BBC will bring the classic Doctor back to the big screen in a new series.BBC will premiere the first episode of the new series at the BBC Television Centre in London on Sunday, May 23, 2019.
Written and directed by Russell T Davies, the new Doctor Who series is set to be an adaptation of the 1980 classic Doctor Who, and will feature guest stars including Jenna Coleman (The Twilight Zone), who will play the role of Clara Oswald.
Doctor Who stars Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman, Arthur Darvill, David Tennant, Richard E Grant, Sophie Aldred, Anthony Ainley, David Warner, Peter Capaldi, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Sophie Colman, Nicola Bryant, Paul McGann, James Nesbitt, Rachel Talalay, Karen Gillan, Arthur Machen, and Karen Gillen (The Sarah Jane Adventures) have also been cast in the new BBC series.
The Doctor Who brand has been reborn in the show and will be featured in the revamped box sets and other merchandise.
The Doctor Who logo will also be featured on the back of Doctor Who: The Complete Series box set.
A new Doctor is about to join the universe, and that new Doctor will be a new one!
The Doctor’s name is Clara Oswald, and her adventures in the Cybermen universe are part of a story of the Time War, as she joins a team of Time Lords to try and save the future of the universe from a threat she is not ready to face.
Doctor Whos return date will be announced at a later date.
Doctor Strange: The Art of the Film is slated for release on November 5, 2019, followed by Doctor Who spin-off Doctor Strange on November 14, 2019 and Doctor Who (2017) on February 12, 2020.
