The BC Liberal government is looking for a lawyer who has a master’s degree in academic law.

A program manager at the Department of Justice says the government is seeking someone with a doctorate in academic legal law.

“We want to attract people who are academically literate, who have an understanding of academic law, and who can bring an innovative approach to law enforcement,” said Mary-Claire O’Brien.

She said the program manager is seeking an applicant with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.

“Our goal is to recruit people who have that level of education in academics,” she said.

O’Brien said the government has recently added another program manager to help it fill the positions it has in its academic law programs.

She also said the department is seeking candidates who are fluent in Mandarin, English, or French.

She says the department also has an application process for people who wish to pursue an academic law career.
